Trekking along the Via Francigena
The package we offer is aimed at all those who love walking in contact with nature and want to spend a relaxing weekend away from the stress and chaos of the city. The program consists of 3 days, in which we will walk along the Via Francigena to discover the historical and naturalistic beauties of the Archaeological Park of Sutri, Lake Vico and Civita Castellana.
The 3-day Trekking program on the Via Francigena
First day: from Capranica to Sutri
We will walk along the Via Francigena from Capranica to Sutri, with lunch at the Antica Osteria Il Mitreo, located not far from the Le Terrecotte Bed and Breakfast. In the afternoon visit to the Regional Archaeological Park of Sutri characterized by a series of rock tombs of the VI-IV century BC, the church of Madonna del Parto or Mitreo, and the Roman Amphitheater, and then continue towards the historic center of Sutri. Free dinner and return to the hotel.
Second day: Depressed beech forest and Devil's well
n the morning a walk awaits us to discover the Depressed Beech Forest and the Devil's Well, on Lake Vico, one of the most beautiful volcanic lakes in Lazio. Packed lunch and then a visit to the Palazzo Farnese in Caprarola, one of the most important late Renaissance works in Europe, and dinner at the Antica Osteria Il Mitreo, a few steps from the Le Terrecotte Bed & Breakfast.
Third day: Castel S.Elia, Nepi and Civita Castellana
After breakfast, we set off for a visit to the gorge that leads from Castel Sant'Elia to Nepi, a natural landscape where the action of water created these deep paths carved into the tuff rock of the Faliscan era. Packed lunch and visit to the village of Civita Castellana, the most important settlement of the Faliscan civilization, to then return to the structure.
